Are Wellbutrin and Budeprion SR the same?By beca from wisconsin on January 10, 2006 Category: Budeprion SR (Oral) Today I was prescribed a drug called Wellbutrin. Is that the same as Budeprion? If so then why are they different in color and in looks? what is the difference from one drug to the other, side effects, lonf-term effects, and so on? Is Wellbutrin more intense? Thanks |
Wellbutrin answerI have been on both the generic Budeprion SR 150mg and the name brand Wellbutrin XL 150mg. I was on Bud. for a month. I took it upon myself to cut them in half and take half in the morning and the other half at night as I have polio. Generally speaking this means I need less than a "normal" person, but it takes longer to take effect, I presume because I have such a diminished muscle capacity. This seemed to be easy on my system, but I did not seem to be getting relief from my depression. Also, my anxity went thruogh the roof, so my doctor started me on Ativan. Then after a month I switched to the brand name Wellbutrin XL (which are too tiny to cut in half). After a month and a half of taking a whole pill in the morning, I'm am starting to feel the depression lifting, but sever side effects have become intollerable. Specifically, itching skin, dry eyes mouth and throat, loss of appetite, sweating, ringing in the ears, agitation dizziness trouble sleeping and muscle pain.
