Migraines and Ischemic strokes

I often get migraine headaches that are accompanied by aura. I was doing some research to find out if I am at higher risk for a stroke.I found information suggesting a migraine sufferer who also suffers from aura has an 80% higher risk of stroke than someone who does not suffer migraines. My main question is, what are the main symptoms of a ischemic stroke? One more thing, I woke up last night at 3 am with a migraine, I tried to sleep it off, but was awakened at 5 am to the sight of bright sparks and a crackling/ snapping sound ( similar to that of an electrial appliance that has shorted out). The sparks seemed to have been right in the middle of my brain. I awoke instantly. Is this a common thing with migraines at night or is something wrong, I have never experienced that sensation before. I hope to hear from you soon!
