avandamet and avante? new side effects study

I barely caught a news report on friday 1/6/05 stating that a new study was conducted on avandamet and another diabetic medication begining with an A. The side effects were blurry vision, problems with blood vessels of the eyes, causing blindness and swelling of legs, ankles and feet. I have been trying to find out information on this and have not been successful. Do you have this new information? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank YOU.
