Can someone explain the differences in generic oral contraceptive pills?

hi,

there are currently so many different brands of oral contraceptive (OC) pills and i'm confused as some of them have generics while others don't (e.g. no generic for Yasmin). How and in what ways do they differ? the concentration of levonorgestrel and ethinyestradiol? if that's the case what different effects do these differing concentrations do?
don't all oral contraceptives basically HELP to prevent pregnancy by either inhibiting ovulation or by preventing the sperm to easily reach the egg?

also, i've been trying to figure out if leven is the generic of microgynon 30 ED or vice versa? they seem to have the same concentrations of oestrogen and progesterone based "ingredients"

could you also explain how the Emergency contraceptive pill works and how it differs in its actions with the "normal" OC?

thanks!
