I HAVE A MEDTRONIC PUMP AND IN THE PUMP WAS DIALUDE WHICH WAS CAUSING ME LEG PAINS AT NIGHT WHICH WOULD GO AWAY WHEN I GOT UP AND WALKED AROUND. bUT DURNIG THE NIGHT THE PAIN WOULD WAKE ME UP..
tHEY CHANGED THE MEDS IN THE PUMP TO FENTYL AND FOR TWO DAYS THE PAIN WENT AWAY AND ALLOWED ME TO SLEEP AT LEAST 6 HOURS. NOW THE PAIN HAS RETURNED

ORALLY I AM TAKING
MORPHINE SULFATE
OXYCODONE
TRAZODONE
DOXEPIN

I WAS WONDERING IF ANY OF THE ABOVER DRUGS COULD HAVE SOMETHING IN THEM THAT COULD BE CAUSING THE LEGS PAIN I HAD WHEN I WAS ON DIALUDE

THANK YOU SO MUCH

James' Leg Pain

Dear James, I was reading your problem and I think that maybe you spelled some of your meds wrong. The med you had in your pump was probably Dilaudid and they changed it to fentanyl. The Meds you mentioned do not generaly cause leg pains as a side effect. What it sounds like to me is because of the meds you are on (oxycodone, morphine, and dilaudid) being the strong opoids that they are , your body built a tolerance rather quickly and they became less effective and your body expereinced some mild withdrawal symptoms. This is only a guess but I can say that I had almost the same experience. I had been on a large dose of Metahdone for quite a while which is also a strong opoid. One day I began to have leg pains.Bad leg pains. It was only when my dose was increased that they went away. I hope the med change that your doc made will bring you relief.
