IS THERE ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BRAND NAME AND DOXICYCLINE HYCLATE?

Our pharmacist said that Adoxa was very expensive and that since both of my daughters need to take it for acne that the generic form would be a perfect substitute. My dermatologist had originally prescribed the brand Adoxa and said that it was a sustained release form of the drug. The dose is 100 mg 2x a day. Please tell me if the doxicycline hyclate will be as effective. Thank you.
