Kidney failure as a result of general anesthesiaBy Pete from Philadelphia, Pa on December 27, 2005 Category: GENERAL ANESTHESIA (Injection) (Injectable) I have a friend that recently had heart surgery to repair a hole in his heart. He had had several pacemakers over the years. This time his kidneys failed after the surgery and he has been on dialysis for the last 5 months. His doctor said it was a rare side effect and his kidneys might start functioning again but haven't as yet. Everything that I have read on the internet so far do not show this as a side effect. Could there be some other cause from the surgery? My friend is in his mid sixties. Please respond as I do not think he will get any better. |
