Could Aristocort cause severe arthritis?

At the age of about 8 years old my son was given aristocort for a low blood platelet count. He took
this drug until he was about 12 years old. He is now 40 years old and has difficulty walking. He was
diagnosed with extensive arthritis of the hips. He is scheduled for hip replacement surgery in January.
His surgeon claims that this was the end result of taking 4 years worth of Aristocort. I would
appreciate your comments on this matter.
