Microgestin Question

I've had a rash on my face and body for over a week and took prednosone, which did not cure it. I'm wondering if it's the microgestin. Can an allergic reaction to the meds occur after taking it for multiple years? And, how long does it take for microgestin to get out of your system once you stop taking it?
