Longevity of Treatment with Pyrantel Pelmoate

I've recently adopted a pet from the pound for a friend. That did not work out due to the worm infestation, so I got him. I did the suggested treatment of worm medicine and that was for a 7lb dog @ 1ml of Pyrantel Pelmoate once every week for three weeks. Having two other dogs at the time and not really paying attention, I didn't notice the worms until I changed my sheets two weeks later after letting him sleep in my bed, and a full bowl of rice later (he sleeps at my feet under the blankets). This proceeded to be a giant puke fest (of my own). HOW DISGUSTING!!!! I've never seen anything like this.

Then my brother took the other two dogs for a walk and my Lab came back with a night crawler hanging out of his @*@. URGHH! Then, I got treatment for all three dogs for once every day for three days. The previous treatment of once a week, seems to be the only recommendation by that doctor out of five. The vet office then prescribed a once a day treatment for three dogs every day and one more time in three weeks for the little one.

Question being? How long does it take for the worms to die? Hook worms? and my little dog started scraping his *&* on the carpet tonight, can I give him his "in three week" treatment today? Will it hurt him? When can I fianlly anticipate no morw worms? How long does it take for them to doe? Why only three days of treatment? We just finished our first three day treatment yesterday???!!!!! I can't do anymore worms! He'll be living in the streets the minute I seeone more worm. GROSSSS!!!!!

Please HELP!!!!?????
